Idael Francisco Blanco Quintero did his undergraduate Geology Engineering at the Instituto Superior Minero Metalúrgico (ISMM) in Cuba. After I finished, I decided to do the career of University Professor. I was a teaching assistant during my Master thesis in the ISMM University. I obtained the FPU grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education, to support my PhD studies in the Granada University (Spain). My PhD studies focused on a
subduction system, studying the partial melting of a slab and the evolution of arc magma in Eastern Cuba. During the past 5 years, I had been a professor (Assistant and Associate) at the University of the Andes (Colombia). In this work I was Laboratory and Academic
Coordinator of the Undergraduate Geosciences program. Currently I am Assistant Professor at the Alicante University (Spain). My researches are mainly associated with regional metamorphism associate with evolution of convergent margins (subduction) and the pressure-temperature path of the metamorphic rocks. To determine these conditions, I use thermobarometric calculations combined with geochemistry and mineralogy studies to
determine the evolution of the complexes obtaining regional implications.
